Create a Research Log Entry to answer these questions:
1. What three periodicals did you choose?
I choose the Newsweek magnazine, Chemical and Engineering News, Journal of Chemical Ecology.

2. Name three articles, one from each of the three journals you chose.

3. What are the major differences among these articles?
Newsweek are written by journalists while chemical and engineering news and journal of chemical ecology is written by specialists. Also, in the newsweek, the articles can be a vast majorities of things while the articles in Chemical adn Engineering News and Journal of Chemical Ecology articles are pertaining to the subject of the book.

4. What are the major differences among these periodicals?
newsweeks is a magnainze, when Chemical and Engineering News and Journal of Chemical Ecology are book bound, heavy books.

  1. You see that these materials are different, but the differences are entirely in the content. The bound volumes you found in the periodicals section were bound by the library, not by the journals and the library no longer binds journals because there's no money to do that.

    The important differences are those described on the wiki page on periodicals, which I asked you to review as part of your work for this week. Magazines are popular, like newsweek, designed to appeal to everyone and be more casual reading. Trade or professional magazines are, as you point out, geared to the profession. The scholarly journal is full of references, detailed research, and is peer-reviewed.
